                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The passing of Denton County resident A. E. Wyatt on
 1-2     February 9, 1999, at the age of 71, brought a great loss to the
 1-3     family and many friends of this fine man; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mr. Wyatt was born in San Angelo to
 1-5     J. F. and Eve Merle Wyatt on February 12, 1927; he graduated from
 1-6     Dallas Baptist College and on March 30, 1947, was united in
 1-7     matrimony with Neva Thomas; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, This patriotic gentleman served his country as a
 1-9     member of the U.S.  Army and retired as a major from the Texas
1-10     National Guard; highly respected in his field, he was the founder
1-11     of the Denton New Car Dealers Association and a member of the
1-12     National Automobile Dealers Association, and he was employed as an
1-13     automobile dealership consultant; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Interested in civic concerns as well, Mr. Wyatt was
1-15     past president of the Denton Chamber of Commerce, a co-chair of
1-16     Denton County Day at the Capitol for more than a decade, and a
1-17     member of a nonprofit youth theater company; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Wyatt held a number of
1-19     leadership positions in his community, having served as chairman of
1-20     the board of Flow Hospital, chairman of the Phyllis George Miss
1-21     America Committee, and director of Provident Bank; and
1-22           WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share the friendship of
1-23     A. E.  Wyatt will long miss his presence and guidance, and he will
1-24     surely be remembered with great affection and admiration for many
 2-1     years to come; now, therefore, be it
 2-2           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-3     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of A. E. Wyatt and
 2-4     extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family:  to his wife,
 2-5     Neva Wyatt; to his daughters, Jana Daigle and Paula Wyatt; to his
 2-6     five grandchildren, Wyatt Bowden, Kathryn Paige Bowden, Lauren
 2-7     Wyatt, Lindsay Wyatt, and Taylor Wyatt; to his sister and brother,
 2-8     Wanda Cinnamon and Jerry Wyatt; and to his nephew and nieces, Jay
 2-9     Wyatt, Charlotte Koiner, and Linda Pope; and, be it further
2-10           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-11     prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
2-12     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
2-13     A. E. Wyatt.
