R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce was chosen to 1-2 receive the 1998 Award for Excellence by the National Association 1-3 for Membership Development, and this prestigious accolade is indeed 1-4 well deserved; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Representing the highest achievement in the 1-6 membership development profession, the Award for Excellence, which 1-7 also designates the National Chamber of the Year, recognizes 1-8 superior accomplishment in the areas of financial performance, 1-9 member programs, internal operations, and organization mission; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Indicative of the Burleson Area Chamber of 1-11 Commerce's phenomenal growth is its membership, which has grown 1-12 from 312 to 620 members in the past year, and the organization also 1-13 had an impressive 98 percent retention rate for members during that 1-14 time period; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Representing the chamber at the national award 1-16 ceremony, which took place September 5, 1998, in San Diego, 1-17 California, were Robert Orr, chamber chairman; Greg Solomon, 1-18 chamber president; Jenni Pulley, director of membership and 1-19 marketing; Patsy Dumas, coordinator of membership development; 1-20 Karen Yandell, manager of financial projects; and Rachael Reeves, 1-21 coordinator of information and referral services; and 1-22 WHEREAS, The Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce has played a 1-23 significant role in the city's remarkable growth and the members of 1-24 that esteemed organization are truly worthy of special legislative 2-1 recognition in light of their outstanding achievement; now, 2-2 therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-4 Legislature hereby congratulate the Burleson Chamber of Commerce on 2-5 its receipt of the 1998 Award for Excellence and extend to the 2-6 organization's delegation a warm welcome on the occasion of their 2-7 visit to the State Capitol; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-9 prepared for the Burleson Chamber of Commerce as an expression of 2-10 high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
