R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Travis B. Olson of Houston has achieved outstanding 1-2 success in the sport of golf, as was demonstrated on January 1, 1-3 1999, when he won the Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Ten and Eleven 1-4 Year Old Division Championship; and 1-5 WHEREAS, The son of James G. and Kimberly K. Olson, this 1-6 talented young Texan is currently an honor student at Northland 1-7 Christian Elementary School; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Mr. Olson has previously won the United States Inner 1-9 City Junior Golf Medalist Championship in 1997 and 1998 and also 1-10 led the Shell Rec Houston Junior Golf Team to national 1-11 championships for those two years; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Travis has acknowledged with thanks the 1-13 encouragement and guidance of his grandfather, Charles Olson, and 1-14 friend and mentor, Danny Crowley; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Although endowed with considerable natural talent, 1-16 Mr. Olson owes much of his golfing success to the supremely skilled 1-17 coaching of professional golfer Robert Olson; and 1-18 WHEREAS, In addition to his athletic and academic pursuits, 1-19 he is an avid video game player and go-cart enthusiast; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Travis B. Olson's many achievements are a source of 1-21 inspiration to all who have had the pleasure of knowing him, and it 1-22 is indeed appropriate that he be honored at this time; now, 1-23 therefore, be it 1-24 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-1 Legislature hereby honor Travis B. Olson for his exceptional 2-2 accomplishments in the sport of golf, including winning the 2-3 Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Ten and Eleven Year Old Division 2-4 Championship, and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued 2-5 success and happiness in the future; and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-7 prepared for Mr. Olson as an expression of high regard by the Texas 2-8 House of Representatives.
