                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Cody Ohl of Erath County is renowned by rodeo fans
 1-2     throughout the world for his calf roping skills, and it is with
 1-3     great pride that the Texas House of Representatives recognizes his
 1-4     achievements on this day; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, This celebrated gentleman has earned numerous
 1-6     accolades since joining the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association
 1-7     (PRCA) in 1994; during his first year of membership, he was named
 1-8     the PRCA Resistol Rookie of the Year and has since qualified for
 1-9     the National Finals Rodeo each of the past five years; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Mr. Ohl won his first Calf Roping World Championship
1-11     in 1997 at the National Finals Rodeo; he repeated that victory in
1-12     1998 when he won his second world championship, and he set the PRCA
1-13     record for the most winnings in a single year in a single event
1-14     with his season earnings of $222,794; and
1-15           WHEREAS, Cody Ohl has made vast contributions to the sport of
1-16     calf roping, and it is a tremendous honor to commend this
1-17     distinguished man for his remarkable accomplishments; now,
1-18     therefore, be it
1-19           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-20     Legislature hereby honor Cody Ohl for his triumphs in calf roping
1-21     and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and
1-22     happiness; and, be it further
1-23           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-24     prepared for Mr. Ohl as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 2-1     House of Representatives.
