R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Kirby Dulaney has completed the rigorous
 1-2     requirements and mastered the many skills necessary to attain the
 1-3     rank of Eagle Scout, and he is truly worthy of special recognition
 1-4     at this time; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, A valued member of Post 186 in Silsbee, this
 1-6     dedicated young man has earned the respect and admiration of his
 1-7     fellow scouts through his active participation in the many programs
 1-8     sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America and his adherence to
 1-9     scouting's ideals; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Mr. Dulaney is a member of the Order of the Arrow
1-11     and has served as senior patrol leader, varsity team leader, and
1-12     explorer post secretary during his six years as a scout; he has
1-13     also demonstrated his leadership abilities as fire marshal, patrol
1-14     leader, and squad leader at several scouting summer camps; and
1-15           WHEREAS,  A student at Silsbee High School, he is active in
1-16     athletics, playing football and golf and working as the trainer for
1-17     the power lifting team; an avid artist, he also enjoys music and
1-18     weight lifting; and
1-19           WHEREAS, This remarkable individual maintains a strong faith
1-20     in God, as demonstrated by his active role as a member of Silsbee's
1-21     Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; he has served as
1-22     deacon quorum president and teacher quorum president and has
1-23     received both the Faith in God and Duty to God awards; and
1-24           WHEREAS, For his Eagle Scout project, Mr. Dulaney planned,
 2-1     organized, and executed the replacement of a dilapidated fence in
 2-2     the Project: SEARCH/ECI parking lot, and the initiative and
 2-3     commitment that he demonstrated during this undertaking will
 2-4     undoubtedly contribute to his success as he pursues his higher
 2-5     education at Angelina Junior College and Stephen F. Austin State
 2-6     University; and
 2-7           WHEREAS, Kirby Dulaney is a source of great pride to his
 2-8     friends and family, particularly to his parents, Mike and Reba
 2-9     Dulaney, his siblings, B. J. and Lena, and his grandparents, Billy
2-10     and Barbara Dulaney and Bob and Janice Daniel, and it is indeed a
2-11     privilege to pay tribute to this fine young man and to commend him
2-12     as he accepts the mantle of Eagle Scout at his Court of Honor on
2-13     February 21, 1999; now, therefore, be it
2-14           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
2-15     Legislature hereby congratulate Kirby Dulaney on attaining the rank
2-16     of Eagle Scout and extend to him warmest best wishes for continued
2-17     success and happiness in all his future endeavors; and, be it
2-18     further
2-19           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-20     prepared for Mr. Dulaney as an expression of high regard by the
2-21     Texas House of Representatives.
