No. 312 76R6734 GMW-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Seven students from Freddy Gonzalez Elementary 1-2 School have received well-deserved awards for their exceptional 1-3 projects at the Texas Computer Education Association State 1-4 Multimedia Contest, and their outstanding achievements are truly 1-5 worthy of special recognition; and 1-6 WHEREAS, This multimedia, desktop, and poster contest 1-7 encourages the use of multimedia tools to communicate ideas and 1-8 information; the Freddy Gonzalez Elementary School students used 1-9 Hyperstudio Multimedia presentation software to develop their own 1-10 programs that incorporated in a creative manner the varied elements 1-11 of music, sound, animated computer graphics, pictures, and text; 1-12 and 1-13 WHEREAS, The award-winning students in the fourth and fifth 1-14 grade division include Monique Cano, first place; Dana De La Garza, 1-15 second place; Nitin Kasan, Natali Rangel, Emilio Quintanilla, and 1-16 Brenda Vega, second place in the team division; and third place 1-17 winner in the poster division, Christine Hendrick; in preparing for 1-18 the contest, these students received invaluable assistance from 1-19 computer lab teacher Diana Pena and fourth grade teacher Debra De 1-20 La Garza; and 1-21 WHEREAS, At the Texas Computer Education Association 1-22 Conference on February 16, 1999, these bright youngsters were 1-23 presented their awards, and it is most fitting at this time that we 1-24 honor the talented Freddy Gonzalez Elementary School students for 2-1 their significant accomplishments; now, therefore, be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-3 Legislature hereby congratulate the seven award-winning students 2-4 from Freddy Gonzalez Elementary School and extend to them sincere 2-5 best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-7 prepared for these students as an expression of high regard by the 2-8 Texas House of Representatives.
