                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, HomeBank, formerly known as Seagoville State Bank,
 1-2     is one of the last independent banks in Texas, and this fine
 1-3     institution's longtime commitment to serving the financial needs of
 1-4     Seagoville and surrounding communities is indeed worthy of special
 1-5     legislative recognition; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, Seagoville State Bank was founded in 1952 by W. A.
 1-7     Waldrop, on the corner of North Kaufman and Elm streets; in 1953
 1-8     the bank was sold to M. D. "Pappy" Reeves, who emphasized the
 1-9     small-town courtesy and concern for customers that have become the
1-10     bank's hallmark; and
1-11           WHEREAS, With the assistance of bank vice president David
1-12     King, the bank was moved in 1967 to the corner of Glendale and
1-13     Highway 175; since that time, it has expanded three times and its
1-14     assets have grown from $700,000 to more than $88 million; and
1-15           WHEREAS, In 1995, the business acquired a second branch, the
1-16     former Buckner State Bank in East Dallas; with careful and able
1-17     management it has continued to grow, and the board of directors
1-18     officially changed the name of both locations to HomeBank to better
1-19     suit future plans for an extended banking network; and
1-20           WHEREAS, HomeBank remains a family-owned banking facility,
1-21     with the children of Mr. Reeves active in its management and
1-22     shareholding; they continue their father's tradition of giving back
1-23     to the community, and HomeBank has recently coordinated efforts
1-24     with other community leaders to renovate two homes for low-income
 2-1     housing in the area; and
 2-2           WHEREAS, The remarkable success and growth of HomeBank is
 2-3     solidly built on the goals established by "Pappy" Reeves almost 50
 2-4     years ago; his commitment to the banking needs of Seagoville and
 2-5     surrounding cities continues with the next generation of management
 2-6     and customers, and it is justly appropriate to recognize this
 2-7     important institution at this time; now, therefore, be it
 2-8           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-9     Legislature hereby honor HomeBank and its management and staff for
2-10     their longtime efforts in behalf of Texas banking and extend to all
2-11     those associated with HomeBank best wishes for continued success
2-12     and happiness; and, be it further
2-13           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-14     prepared for prominent display at HomeBank as an expression of high
2-15     regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
