                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Lynn Carter were
 1-2     greatly saddened by his untimely passing on December 14, 1998, at
 1-3     the age of 56, and we join them in bidding a reluctant farewell to
 1-4     this notable Texan; and
 1-5           WHEREAS,  Mr. Carter was born in Wichita Falls and attended
 1-6     schools in several cities before graduating from Bloomington High
 1-7     School; a talented high school athlete, he set numerous records and
 1-8     accepted a football scholarship to Sul Ross State University; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, This renowned cowboy owned and ran Chisos Remuda
1-10     Horse Concession in Big Bend National Park for 25 years before
1-11     moving to Spring Creek Ranch; Mr. Carter will be remembered as a
1-12     gifted horseman and generous host; and
1-13           WHEREAS, In addition to his love of the outdoors, Mr. Carter
1-14     was a dedicated family man who cherished the time spent with his
1-15     wife of 36 years, Cathey Carter, and their children and
1-16     grandchildren; and
1-17           WHEREAS, Lynn Carter was a man of honor and integrity, and
1-18     though his guidance and devotion will be missed by all who knew
1-19     him, his spirit will surely live on in the hearts of the many
1-20     people whose lives he touched; now, therefore, be it
1-21           RESOLVED, That special tribute be paid to the life of Lynn
1-22     Carter and that sincere sympathy be extended to the members of his
1-23     family: to his wife, Cathey Carter; to his son, Craig Carter; to
1-24     his daughter, Lynnene Hinsley, and her husband, Ray; to his
 2-1     grandchildren, G. R.  and Bryson Hinsley; to his father, Blackie
 2-2     McRoberts; and to the many other relatives and friends of this
 2-3     beloved man; and, be it further
 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-5     prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
 2-6     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
 2-7     Lynn Carter.
