No. 339 76R8194 BE-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, After 30 years in education, including eight years 1-2 as superintendent of the Arp school district, Gerald Rosebure 1-3 retired in December 1998, and his many accomplishments and deep 1-4 commitment to the schoolchildren of Texas are indeed worthy of 1-5 special legislative recognition; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Originally from Commerce, Mr. Rosebure began his 1-7 career as a teacher and coach; his years in the classroom and on 1-8 the playing field provided a broad experience base that has served 1-9 him well since his move into administration; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Superintendent Rosebure's early tenure with the Arp 1-11 school district was highlighted by a number of impressive 1-12 successes, including a $3 million bond issue for a new elementary 1-13 school; in addition to his administrative work with the Arp 1-14 schools, he served the Wills Point and Newton school districts, and 1-15 his contributions to each were noteworthy; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Committed to the success of his students, he worked 1-17 with teachers to develop classroom techniques and incentive 1-18 programs to raise the students' TAAS scores and improve the 1-19 district's overall rating with the Texas Education Agency; and 1-20 WHEREAS, During his tenure, the Arp school district has 1-21 improved technology programs and built a new elementary school, 1-22 band hall, and weight-training facility; and 1-23 WHEREAS, Throughout his educational accomplishments, 1-24 Mr. Rosebure has been lovingly and ably supported by his wife, 2-1 Deborah; as they make plans for their life together after his 2-2 retirement, it is justly fitting to honor him for his long and 2-3 valuable dedication to education; now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-5 Legislature hereby honor Gerald Rosebure on his retirement as 2-6 superintendent of the Arp school district and extend to him warm 2-7 best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-9 prepared for Mr. Rosebure as an expression of high regard by the 2-10 Texas House of Representatives.
