R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, It is always a pleasure to honor those individuals
 1-2     who have been successful in their professional field or business,
 1-3     and J. C. McCollough has been a real estate agent licensed by the
 1-4     Texas Real Estate Commission for more than 50 years; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Mr. McCollough was born in Panhandle on July 6,
 1-6     1914, to Charles and Nellie Mae McCollough; after attending John
 1-7     Brown University and The University of Texas, Mr. McCollough
 1-8     returned to his hometown to work with his father at Carson County
 1-9     Abstract Company; and
1-10           WHEREAS, In December of 1940, shortly after he received his
1-11     real estate license, he married Norma Jim Cornett, and her loving
1-12     support, along with that of their children, Randa, Gail, Parker,
1-13     and Kay, has contributed greatly to his success; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Mr. McCollough has been
1-15     recognized as a concerned and able agent, one dedicated to
1-16     protecting clients and assuring them of qualified and
1-17     straightforward real estate transactions; at Carson County Abstract
1-18     Company, and later at Pioneer-Lawyers Land Title Company in
1-19     Hutchinson County, Mr. McCollough upheld the highest of business
1-20     ideals in serving his customers and the real estate profession; and
1-21           WHEREAS, Though he sold the businesses and retired in 1994,
1-22     Mr. McCollough remains a licensed real estate agent; he is one of
1-23     the state's original brokers, licensed by the Texas Real Estate
1-24     Commission more than half a century ago, and his outstanding record
 2-1     of lengthy and successful service truly merits special legislative
 2-2     recognition; now, therefore, be it
 2-3           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-4     Legislature hereby commend J. C. McCollough for his many years as a
 2-5     licensed real estate broker; and, be it further
 2-6           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-7     prepared for Mr. McCollough as an expression of high regard by the
 2-8     Texas House of Representatives.
