                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans
 1-2     who have shared 64 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a
 1-3     memorable occasion; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Merejildo and Felipa Heredia recently had the
 1-5     privilege of commemorating such an event in their lives when they
 1-6     observed their 64th wedding anniversary on February 9, 1999, with a
 1-7     mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Mr. Heredia and the former Felipa Gonzales were
 1-9     married on February 9, 1935, at St. George Catholic Church in
1-10     Midland; they lived in Santa Ana, California, before returning to
1-11     Midland in 1946; Mr. Heredia worked as a ranch foreman and ranch
1-12     hand and was employed by the Tampico Spanish Inn and the City of
1-13     Midland; and
1-14           WHEREAS, This devoted couple are members of Our Lady of
1-15     Guadalupe Catholic Church; they have been blessed with a loving
1-16     family that includes four children, Beatrice Madrid, Elodia Avalos,
1-17     George Heredia, and Mario Heredia; 11 grandchildren; 18
1-18     great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and
1-19           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Heredia have shared a warm and
1-20     fulfilling relationship filled with many happy times and cherished
1-21     memories, and their marriage is indeed deserving of special
1-22     recognition; now, therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-24     Legislature hereby honor Merejildo and Felipa Heredia on their 64th
 2-1     wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
 2-2     continued success and happiness; and, be it further
 2-3           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-4     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Heredia as an expression of high regard
 2-5     by the Texas House of Representatives.
