                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great pride
 1-2     in recognizing Elizabeth Grace Elkins for completing the Stairway
 1-3     of the Stars achievement program at Faith Assembly of God Church;
 1-4     and
 1-5           WHEREAS, The Stairway of the Stars achievement program is
 1-6     part of the Missionettes club, which prepares young women for
 1-7     future involvement in women's ministries by educating them about
 1-8     the teachings of Jesus Christ; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, During the course of this four-year program, Miss
1-10     Elkins has met all of the goals required by the church, and her
1-11     personal commitment to the completion of the course is a statement
1-12     of her service to God, her church, her community, her family, and
1-13     her fellow "Stars"; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Miss Elkins is a seventh grade student at Cypress
1-15     Community Christian School who is on the honor roll and has
1-16     achieved various scholastic awards, including a rating of superior
1-17     at the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) speech
1-18     meet and the ACSI piano festival, and a second place award at the
1-19     ACSI Math Olympics; she is an active member of Faith Assembly of
1-20     God Church where she helps with Children's Church, and she works to
1-21     improve the quality of life in her community through nursing home
1-22     visits; and
1-23           WHEREAS, This young woman possesses an uncommon character
1-24     that is evidenced by her devotion to her church, her family, and to
 2-1     academics; her impressive dedication as a young Texan instills
 2-2     pride in all who know and love her, and it is indeed a privilege to
 2-3     honor her at this time; now, therefore, be it
 2-4           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-5     Legislature hereby commend Elizabeth Grace Elkins for completing
 2-6     the Stairway of the Stars achievement program and extend to her
 2-7     sincere best wishes for success and happiness in all her future
 2-8     endeavors; and, be it further
 2-9           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-10     prepared for Miss Elkins as an expression of high regard by the
2-11     Texas House of Representatives.
