No. 373 76R3091 GMW-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, On May 22, 1998, police sergeant Kent Dean Kincaid 1-2 was killed in the line of duty, and we join his family and many 1-3 friends in mourning their tragic loss; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Born August 17, 1957, in Stockton, Kansas, 1-5 Mr. Kincaid attended Stockton High School and Fort Hays State 1-6 University before graduating from Wichita State University; he was 1-7 a five-year veteran of the Wichita Police Department before moving 1-8 to Houston and beginning a 14-year career with the Houston Police 1-9 Department; and 1-10 WHEREAS, A valuable member of the Houston police force since 1-11 1984, Sergeant Kincaid received numerous commendations and served 1-12 as a member of the department's special response group; and 1-13 WHEREAS, During the course of his life, Kent Dean Kincaid 1-14 distinguished himself as a lawman of ability and integrity and 1-15 through his efforts as a community leader helped to make society a 1-16 better place; although he will indeed be missed, he lives on in the 1-17 hearts and minds of all those fortunate enough to have known him; 1-18 now, therefore, be it 1-19 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-20 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Kent Dean Kincaid and 1-21 extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, 1-22 Nancy Lee Kincaid; to his daughters, Jena Lee and Courtney Deanne 1-23 Kincaid; and to the many other relatives and friends of this brave 1-24 and dedicated officer; and, be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-2 prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas 2-3 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-4 Kent Dean Kincaid.
