R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to 1-2 welcome the members and supporters of Leadership Irving-Las Colinas 1-3 as they visit the State Capitol on March 10, 1999; and 1-4 WHEREAS, For 14 years the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber 1-5 of Commerce has conducted this outstanding leadership training 1-6 program, which provides its participants with opportunities for 1-7 personal development and community involvement and empowers them to 1-8 contribute to the dynamic growth of the Irving-Las Colinas area; 1-9 and 1-10 WHEREAS, In addition to being afforded volunteer 1-11 opportunities and learning valuable leadership training skills, the 1-12 members of Leadership Irving-Las Colinas are versed in a wide range 1-13 of city, county, and state government issues, including those 1-14 pertaining to transportation, health care, law enforcement, and the 1-15 judicial system; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Graduates of this worthwhile program have served, 1-17 and continue to serve, on city boards and commissions, the Irving 1-18 City Council, the boards of trustees of the Irving and 1-19 Carrollton-Farmers Branch independent school districts, and the 1-20 chamber's board of directors; and 1-21 WHEREAS, During their trip to Austin, the 1998-1999 1-22 Leadership Irving-Las Colinas class is accompanied by a number of 1-23 distinguished citizens who support this esteemed program, including 1-24 the mayor of Irving, city council members, the city manager, and 2-1 the county judge of Dallas County; and 2-2 WHEREAS, The members of Leadership Irving-Las Colinas have 2-3 demonstrated exemplary dedication to their community and, as they 2-4 continue to strive to reach their worthy goals, should be honored 2-5 for their significant contributions; now, therefore, be it 2-6 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-7 Legislature hereby commend the participants in Leadership 2-8 Irving-Las Colinas for their community involvement and extend to 2-9 them a warm welcome on the occasion of their visit to the State 2-10 Capitol; and, be it further 2-11 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-12 prepared for the members of Leadership Irving-Las Colinas as an 2-13 expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
