No. 388 76R8648 GMW-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The recent passing of Ned Parrish of Bettie, Texas, 1-2 on February 21, 1999, at the age of 74, brought a great loss to the 1-3 family and many friends of this esteemed gentleman; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mr. Parrish was born October 17, 1-5 1924, and was a lifelong resident of Upshur County; he married the 1-6 former Norma Faye Taylor on May 10, 1944, in Gilmer, and they 1-7 shared a lengthy, loving union filled with many happy times and 1-8 cherished family memories; and 1-9 WHEREAS, In addition to being a respected cattleman and 1-10 community leader, this devoted family man was also an active and 1-11 valued member of Bettie United Methodist Church; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Although Ned Parrish will be deeply missed, his 1-13 memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all those fortunate 1-14 enough to have known him, and it is indeed fitting to remember him 1-15 at this time; now, therefore, be it 1-16 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-17 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ned Parrish and 1-18 extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, 1-19 Norma Parrish; to his son, Taylor Warren Parrish; to his daughter, 1-20 Mitt Parrish Beavers; to his brothers, R. M., Dan, and Kay Parrish; 1-21 to his sister, Nell Gipson; and to his three grandchildren and five 1-22 great-grandchildren; and, be it further 1-23 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 1-24 prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas 2-1 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-2 Ned Parrish.
