R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, Throughout its history the State of Texas has
1-2 maintained a commitment to the principle of protecting private
1-3 property, and since 1920, members of the Texas Association of
1-4 REALTORS have supported this vital principle; and
1-5 WHEREAS, Each day, REALTORS provide valuable professional
1-6 services that enable their fellow Texans to buy, sell, lease,
1-7 develop, and manage real estate in a knowledgeable and confident
1-8 manner; and
1-9 WHEREAS, Over the years, Texas REALTORS have worked
1-10 diligently within the regulatory process to promote and raise their
1-11 business practices, and the term "REALTOR" has come to stand for
1-12 competence, fairness, and integrity; and
1-13 WHEREAS, The 45,000 members of the Texas Association of
1-14 REALTORS have consistently supported responsible government as well
1-15 as the entrepreneurial spirit that is the backbone of our state's
1-16 economy, and they are indeed worthy of special recognition at this
1-17 time; now, therefore, be it
1-18 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-19 Legislature hereby recognize March 17, 1999, as REALTOR
1-20 Appreciation Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to
1-21 members of the Texas Association of REALTORS on the occasion of
1-22 their visit to the State Capitol; and, be it further RESOLVED,
1-23 That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Texas
1-24 Association of REALTORS as an expression of high regard by the
2-1 Texas House of Representatives.
