R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The recent passing of Edith Huber-Logsdon, at the
 1-2     age of 70, has greatly saddened the family and many friends who
 1-3     knew, admired, and worked with this esteemed woman; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, A native Texan, she was born and raised in Port
 1-5     Arthur and went back to school to earn a commercial art degree from
 1-6     Lamar University after raising four sons; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, Mrs. Huber-Logsdon held several positions in the
 1-8     field of communications before becoming the director of the
 1-9     Convention and Visitors Bureau in Port Arthur, including reporter
1-10     and lifestyles editor at the Port Arthur News, wire service
1-11     reporter in Madrid, Spain, and media coordinator for the John Gray
1-12     Institute at Lamar University, and she was also presented with the
1-13     1995 Quota Club's Woman of the Year award; and
1-14           WHEREAS, An enthusiastic advocate for tourism in Port Arthur,
1-15     Mrs. Huber-Logsdon loved the town and the job she had held since
1-16     1981; she took great pride in conceiving innovative campaigns to
1-17     attract tourists to the area; and
1-18           WHEREAS, In addition to being a successful professional,  she
1-19     was a loving and energetic mother to her sons and an adored
1-20     companion to her husband; and
1-21           WHEREAS, Edith Huber-Logsdon was a woman of integrity,
1-22     compassion, and generosity, and though her guidance and devotion
1-23     will be greatly missed, her lively spirit will surely live on in
1-24     the hearts and minds of the many people whose lives she touched;
 2-1     now, therefore, be it
 2-2           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-3     Legislature hereby honor the memory of Edith Huber-Logsdon and
 2-4     extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
 2-5     husband, Lonnie Logsdon; to her four sons; and to the many other
 2-6     relatives and friends of this beloved woman; and, be it further
 2-7           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-8     prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas
 2-9     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in the memory
2-10     of Edith Huber-Logsdon.
