No. 447 76R9733 WMS-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 Evita Tezeno of Dallas for her commitment to the creation and 1-3 understanding of art; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A native of Port Arthur, she graduated from Lamar 1-5 University with a bachelor's degree in art and recently applied to 1-6 the master of fine arts program at the University of Dallas with 1-7 the ultimate goal of becoming a teacher; and 1-8 WHEREAS, In addition to pursuing her studies, Ms. Tezeno 1-9 hopes to travel abroad and also aspires to make an impact as a 1-10 woman, an artist, and an African American; and 1-11 WHEREAS, This talented individual is an instinctive artist 1-12 who draws her inspiration from the objects around her, and her 1-13 unique works are imbued with her colorful and visionary style; and 1-14 WHEREAS, In recognition of her profound dedication to the 1-15 arts, Ms. Tezeno will be honored by the Dallas Alumnae Chapter of 1-16 Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. on March 21, 1999, at the African 1-17 American Museum in Dallas; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Evita Tezeno has opened her mind and talent to the 1-19 myriad possibilities of artistic expression, and it is indeed 1-20 appropriate that she be honored for her accomplishments at this 1-21 time; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-23 Legislature hereby congratulate Evita Tezeno on her outstanding 1-24 artistic contributions and extend to her sincere best wishes for 2-1 continued success and happiness; and, be it further 2-2 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-3 prepared for Ms. Tezeno as an expression of high regard by the 2-4 Texas House of Representatives.
