R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The Alamo Silver Wings Airborne Association is an
1-2 organization committed to promoting good citizenship and honoring
1-3 the memory of U.S. paratroopers; and
1-4 WHEREAS, This respected organization is composed of more than
1-5 300 members, including active and retired military personnel, some
1-6 of whom have served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, conflicts
1-7 in the Dominican Republic, Grenada, and Panama, and the Gulf War,
1-8 and many of whom who have earned such recognitions as the
1-9 Distinguished Service Cross, the Legion of Merit, the Silver Star,
1-10 the Bronze Star, and the Purple Heart; and
1-11 WHEREAS, In addition to providing a meeting place for
1-12 members, the Alamo Silver Wings Airborne Association honors their
1-13 comrades through programs, color guard escort, and flag-raising
1-14 ceremonies; their public-spirited nature shines through as they
1-15 extend assistance to families in need and award scholarships to
1-16 deserving citizens; and
1-17 WHEREAS, A true example of how the dedication and
1-18 perseverance learned in the military can be actively applied to
1-19 civilian activities and community participation, the Alamo Silver
1-20 Wings Airborne Association stands as a model that is truly
1-21 deserving of recognition at this time; now, therefore, be it
1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-23 Legislature hereby commend the members of the Alamo Silver Wings
1-24 Airborne Association for their service and many sacrifices in
2-1 behalf of their country and their community and extend to them
2-2 sincere wishes for success and happiness in the future; and, be it
2-3 further
2-4 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-5 prepared for the Alamo Silver Wings Airborne Association as an
2-6 expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
