R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Dalton D. Hogg were
 1-2     greatly saddened by his passing on May 26, 1998, at the age of 75,
 1-3     and we join them in mourning their loss; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mr. Hogg was born January 4, 1923,
 1-5     in Lamesa, and lived there until 1947, when he moved to Sanderson;
 1-6     he quickly distinguished himself as a vital and valued member of
 1-7     the community, and resided there until his passing; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Mr. Hogg was well known as a former sheriff of
 1-9     Terrell County, and he served in this position with distinction,
1-10     bringing to this demanding occupation his characteristic diligence
1-11     and ability; and
1-12           WHEREAS, He lent his time and talents to a number of
1-13     worthwhile organizations, including the Masonic Lodge and Eastern
1-14     Star, the Sanderson Chamber of Commerce, and the Big Bend Law
1-15     Enforcement Association, and he was also a member of the Church of
1-16     Christ; and
1-17           WHEREAS, Throughout his life, Dalton D. Hogg contributed
1-18     greatly to the common good, and although he has been missed, his
1-19     spirit surely lives on in the hearts and minds of all those whose
1-20     lives he touched; now, therefore, be it
1-21           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-22     Legislature hereby honor the memory of Dalton D. Hogg and extend
1-23     sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Henry
1-24     Beth Hogg; to his son and daughter-in-law, John Dalton and Lorna
 2-1     Hogg; to his brother and sister-in-law, Jimmie Lee and Pauline
 2-2     Hogg; to his sisters and brother-in-law, Marie Batson and Lucille
 2-3     and Gerald Riggan; to his grandson and his grandson's wife, John
 2-4     Wesley and Julie Hogg; to his granddaughter, Joelle Lynn Hogg; and
 2-5     to his nieces and nephews; and, be it further
 2-6           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-7     prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
 2-8     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
 2-9     Dalton D.  Hogg.
