R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, While few athletic teams are able to realize the
 1-2     dream of attaining a state title in their given sport, fewer still
 1-3     can marshal the dedication and drive necessary to duplicate such a
 1-4     phenomenal task; among that elite group is the Moulton High School
 1-5     boys' basketball team, which in 1999 earned its second consecutive
 1-6     UIL Class 1A title; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, Facing previously undefeated Brookeland High School
 1-8     in the Class 1A championship game, the Bobkatz refused to be
 1-9     denied, overcoming their opponent by a score of 54-49 to complete
1-10     the season with a record of 35-4 and claim the coveted state crown
1-11     for the third time this decade; and
1-12           WHEREAS, Each member of the Moulton team made a significant
1-13     contribution to the Bobkatz' overall success, and Robert Tovar
1-14     garnered special distinction by earning tournament MVP honors for
1-15     the second time in as many years; and
1-16           WHEREAS, Head coach Sammie Koudelka enabled each of his
1-17     players to perform to the best of their ability, and his remarkable
1-18     efforts have placed Moulton High School at the threshold of
1-19     establishing a basketball dynasty; and
1-20           WHEREAS, This group of talented athletes, along with their
1-21     coaches and staff, are a source of tremendous pride to the students
1-22     and faculty at Moulton High School, as well as their many
1-23     supporters in the community, and it is indeed appropriate that they
1-24     be honored for their significant achievements at this time; now,
 2-1     therefore, be it
 2-2           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-3     Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Moulton High
 2-4     School boys' basketball team on winning the 1999 UIL Class 1A state
 2-5     title, the school's third of the decade, and extend to them sincere
 2-6     best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 2-7           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-8     prepared for prominent display at Moulton High School as an
 2-9     expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
