No. 513 76R9203 JBR-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The passing of Diane Howe Ross on December 12, 1998, 1-2 at the age of 59, brought a great loss to the family and many 1-3 friends of this beloved San Antonio resident; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Born in Corpus Christi on January 31, 1939, Ms. Ross 1-5 earned her degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1961, 1-6 after graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio; 1-7 and 1-8 WHEREAS, Ms. Ross was an active member of a variety of 1-9 community organizations including the Castle Hills Garden Club, the 1-10 Castle Hills Woman's Club, the San Antonio Genealogical and 1-11 Historical Society, and the San Antonio Jaguar Club, and she was a 1-12 former member of Junior Forum and the San Antonio Conservation 1-13 Society; and 1-14 WHEREAS, She was a strong supporter of the American Cancer 1-15 Society, the Bexar County Junior Livestock Auction, Boysville, the 1-16 Children's Shelter of San Antonio, and the Cancer Therapy and 1-17 Research Center, where she was a cabinet founder; and 1-18 WHEREAS, This outstanding woman devoted time to her family 1-19 and her community and, though the dedication and wisdom that she 1-20 put forth will be greatly missed, her memory will long endure in 1-21 the hearts and minds of those who were privileged to know her; now, 1-22 therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-24 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Diane Howe Ross and 2-1 extend sincere sympathy to her children, Marsha Diane Ratliff and 2-2 Bailey Bryant "Trey" Ratliff III, and to her many friends; and, be 2-3 it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-5 prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas 2-6 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-7 Diane Howe Ross.
