R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Houston's Larry Easely has been named an Outstanding
 1-2     Texan by the Texas Legislative Black Caucus, and this Fifth Ward
 1-3     native is truly worthy of special recognition at this time; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, The supervisor of logistical support for the Harris
 1-5     County Hospital District, Mr. Easely is a 25-year veteran of law
 1-6     enforcement and has worked in security for the past five years; he
 1-7     is also a reserve deputy with the Galena Park Police Department;
 1-8     and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Mr. Easely attended Phillis Wheatley High School,
1-10     graduating in 1971, and is a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist
1-11     Church; he is a former president of and participant in Fifth Ward
1-12     B.O.N.D. (Blocks Organizing Neighborhood Defense) and is active
1-13     with the Fifth Ward Neighborhood Civic Club, the Red Cross
1-14     Northeast Advisory Board, and the Masonic Order; and
1-15           WHEREAS, This noteworthy gentleman receives much love and
1-16     support from his wife, Chiquita, and his longtime dedication to his
1-17     community has earned him the respect of all who know him; now,
1-18     therefore, be it
1-19           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-20     Legislature hereby congratulate Larry Easely on his receipt of an
1-21     Outstanding Texan Award by the Texas Legislative Black Caucus and
1-22     extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and
1-23     happiness; and, be it further
1-24           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-1     prepared for Mr. Easely as an expression of high regard by the
 2-2     Texas House of Representatives.
