                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to
 1-2     congratulate Jack McGlaun for his longtime commitment to the youth
 1-3     of Snyder; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, In his role as director of the Scurry County Boys
 1-5     and Girls Club since 1969, Mr. McGlaun has worked diligently to
 1-6     make the club a place where each year hundreds of youths find adult
 1-7     support and guidance as well as friendship and recreational
 1-8     opportunities; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Mr. McGlaun is also active with the Snyder Little
1-10     Dribblers program, the American Junior Rodeo Association, and the
1-11     Salvation Army; in 1988, the annual PeeWee all-star football game
1-12     was named in his honor in recognition of his positive influence on
1-13     area youth; and
1-14           WHEREAS, His work with youngsters has spanned nearly four
1-15     decades; in the early 1950s Mr. McGlaun was involved with Jaycees
1-16     programs, and together with his wife, June, he helped organize and
1-17     sponsor Snyder's first youth center; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Twice honored by the Boys Club of America with
1-19     regional awards, this esteemed gentleman has also been a recipient
1-20     of the Boy Scouts Presidential Award; in addition, he was named a
1-21     winner of the Snyder Chamber of Commerce President's Award and is a
1-22     two-time recipient of the Paul Sizemore Goldcoat Award; and
1-23           WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. McGlaun treasures time
1-24     spent with his wife, their daughter, Marsha, and their three
 2-1     grandchildren; and
 2-2           WHEREAS, Jack McGlaun has long contributed to the betterment
 2-3     of his community and his state by giving generously of his time and
 2-4     talents to Texas youth, and his efforts in this regard are truly
 2-5     exemplary; now, therefore, be it
 2-6           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-7     Legislature hereby commend Jack McGlaun for enhancing the lives of
 2-8     many young people and extend to him best wishes for continued
 2-9     success and happiness; and, be it further
2-10           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-11     prepared for Mr. McGlaun as an expression of high regard by the
2-12     Texas House of Representatives.
