R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The passing of Ray Bryan LaBeff on December 28, 1-2 1997, at the age of 82, brought a great loss to the many friends 1-3 and relatives of this longtime Alpine resident; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Born February 4, 1915, in Pyote, Texas, Mr. LaBeff 1-5 served his nation with distinction as a member of the Army Air 1-6 Corps and later devoted his time and talents to positions with 1-7 LaBeff Motors and Casner Motor Company; and 1-8 WHEREAS, This multifaceted individual also worked for the 1-9 United States Postal Service and was the owner and operator of 1-10 Highland Butane Company; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Active in a variety of worthy civic organizations as 1-12 well, Mr. LaBeff was a member of the Alpine Lions Club and the 1-13 American Legion; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Ray Bryan LaBeff was a man of rare dedication and 1-15 integrity; although his warmth and wisdom have been deeply missed, 1-16 his remarkable spirit surely lives on in the hearts of the many 1-17 people whose lives he touched during his time on this earth; now, 1-18 therefore, be it 1-19 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-20 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ray Bryan LaBeff and 1-21 extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, 1-22 Frances LaBeff; to his children, Bryan LaBeff, Jr., Sally LaBeff 1-23 Farrer, Barbara LaBeff Tuck, and Emily LaBeff; to his five 1-24 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and to the many other 2-1 friends and relatives of this esteemed gentleman; and, be it 2-2 further 2-3 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-4 prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas 2-5 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-6 Ray Bryan LaBeff.
