                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, During four legislative sessions of the Texas House
 1-2     of Representatives, Murray "Pete" Peterson has been a highly
 1-3     respected figure in the day-to-day operations of this deliberative
 1-4     body; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, The doorkeeper for the house of representatives,
 1-6     Mr. Peterson is a former employee of the Texas Department of Public
 1-7     Safety and was commissioned as a special Texas Ranger on the
 1-8     occasion of his retirement in 1985; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, His experience and resolve have given Mr. Peterson
1-10     the sense of purpose and strength of character necessary to
1-11     strictly enforce the rules of the house, while his friendly
1-12     demeanor has made him a welcome presence during the long hours of a
1-13     legislative session; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure with the house, Mr. Peterson
1-15     has performed his duties with dedication and good cheer, and as he
1-16     prepares to retire from his post with the house of representatives,
1-17     it is a great pleasure to join his many friends and colleagues in
1-18     recognizing him; now, therefore, be it
1-19           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-20     Legislature hereby honor Murray "Pete" Peterson on his last day of
1-21     service with the house and extend to him warmest best wishes for
1-22     great happiness in the years ahead; and, be it further
1-23           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-24     prepared for Mr. Peterson as an expression of highest regard by the
 2-1     Texas House of Representatives.
