                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Houston's Patrick Meyer Renner has completed the
 1-2     rigorous requirements necessary to attain the rank of Eagle Scout,
 1-3     and he is truly worthy of special legislative recognition for this
 1-4     noteworthy accomplishment; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, A valued member of the Sam Houston Area Council's
 1-6     Troop 604, Mr. Renner has received 34 merit badges and has
 1-7     demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities in his quest to gain
 1-8     Eagle Scout status; he has served as both patrol leader and senior
 1-9     patrol leader during his tenure as a scout and has earned the
1-10     respect and admiration of his scoutmaster and fellow scouts; and
1-11           WHEREAS, This noteworthy individual attends the High School
1-12     for the Performing and Visual Arts and is an active member of St.
1-13     Matthew's United Methodist Church, where he is a youth fellowship
1-14     member and has served as an usher and acolyte; he has channeled his
1-15     artistic talents into a number of worthy projects, including the
1-16     Museum of Fine Arts, Houston's construction fence mural project and
1-17     the Montrose Association's civic improvement mural project; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Mr. Renner is a recipient of the Bronze Palm and
1-19     will soon be presented with the prestigious Gold and Silver Palm
1-20     awards; he has also earned the God and Country and God and Church
1-21     awards and was recognized at the Council First Aid Meet with two
1-22     gold medals and a silver medal from 1995 to 1997; and
1-23           WHEREAS, The vice president of Venture Scout Troop 604, Eagle
1-24     Scout Renner has demonstrated his commitment to scouting's ideals
 2-1     through his active participation and the pursuance of numerous
 2-2     awards and accolades, such as the World Conservation Award, the
 2-3     Mile Swim Award, and the Texas Trails Award; and
 2-4           WHEREAS, Patrick Meyer Renner is a source of great pride to
 2-5     his family, friends, and fellow scouts, particularly to his
 2-6     parents, David and Linda Renner, and it is indeed a privilege to
 2-7     honor this estimable young man and recognize his Eagle Court of
 2-8     Honor on June 5, 1999; now, therefore, be it
 2-9           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
2-10     Legislature hereby congratulate Patrick Meyer Renner on attaining
2-11     the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for
2-12     continued success and happiness in all his endeavors; and, be it
2-13     further
2-14           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-15     prepared for Mr. Renner as an expression of high regard by the
2-16     Texas House of Representatives.
