R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, On April 15, 1999, members of Leadership Fort Worth 1-2 will visit the State Capitol, and the Texas House of 1-3 Representatives is proud to welcome them on this day; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Founded with the goal of providing the city of Fort 1-5 Worth with a diverse and enlightened leadership, the organization 1-6 was in the vanguard of similar initiatives across the nation when 1-7 its first class was formed in 1973; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Since that time, more than 1,400 individuals from 1-9 throughout the area have graduated from Leadership Fort Worth, 1-10 including elected officials, business leaders, community 1-11 volunteers, and association professionals; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Graduates formed a new program in 1997, LeaderKids, 1-13 which provides leadership training and community orientation to 1-14 middle school-aged children; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Participants in Leadership Fort Worth have 1-16 demonstrated an abiding commitment to creating a brighter future 1-17 for their fellow citizens, and as they continue their pursuit of 1-18 their worthy goals, it is indeed appropriate that they be honored; 1-19 now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-21 Legislature hereby commend the members of Leadership Fort Worth for 1-22 their outstanding community involvement and extend to them a warm 1-23 welcome on the occasion of their visit to the State Capitol; and, 1-24 be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-2 prepared for Leadership Fort Worth as an expression of high regard 2-3 by the Texas House of Representatives.
