R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to
 1-2     welcome and recognize members of the College of Agriculture
 1-3     Development Council from Texas A&M University; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, The council is a growing volunteer organization of
 1-5     more than 85 men and women who are dedicated to enhancing
 1-6     cooperation and understanding between Texas A&M University and the
 1-7     agricultural community through improved communication; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Members of the council represent agricultural and
 1-9     business leaders from Texas and neighboring states, and include
1-10     both former students and friends of the university; and
1-11           WHEREAS, The council is committed to improving educational
1-12     opportunities for students majoring in the agricultural sciences,
1-13     while preparing them for roles as future agricultural leaders; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Since its inception in 1981, the council has
1-15     developed a tradition of supporting students through the
1-16     establishment of several scholarships and program endowments and
1-17     annually provides funds to student organizations and special
1-18     programs in the College and Agriculture Program of The Texas A&M
1-19     University System; and
1-20           WHEREAS, Council members serve as ambassadors and advisors
1-21     for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M
1-22     University and are actively engaged in recruiting students, seeking
1-23     opportunities for job placement and internship programs, and
1-24     identifying endowment support for scholarships and special
 2-1     programs; now, therefore, be it
 2-2           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-3     Legislature hereby welcome members of the College of Agriculture
 2-4     Development Council from Texas A&M University and express sincere
 2-5     appreciation to the council for its dedicated service and
 2-6     commitment to higher education as evidenced through its student
 2-7     recruiting activities, endowment and scholarship support, and its
 2-8     commitment to the Texas agricultural community and industry; and,
 2-9     be it further
2-10           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-11     prepared for the College of Agriculture Development Council as an
2-12     expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
