R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great
 1-2     pleasure in honoring Brandon M. Hill, the president of the State of
 1-3     Texas Future Farmers of America; this is indeed an honor for
 1-4     Mr. Hill, his family, and his hometown of Arlington; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, This esteemed young man has consistently
 1-6     demonstrated his devotion to the Future Farmers of America
 1-7     organization; at Martin High School, he served as chapter
 1-8     president, chapter student advisor, and greenhand president; he
 1-9     earned several Future Farmers of America awards, some of which
1-10     include public relations team, for which he achieved first in the
1-11     state, and prepared public speaking, for which he was fifth in the
1-12     state; Brandon represented the Future Farmers of America as a
1-13     delegate to both state and national conferences and was also active
1-14     in leading his area's Future Farmers of America association; ever
1-15     the agricultural enthusiast, Brandon exhibited Hereford heifers,
1-16     Santa Gertrudis heifers, and lambs at many Texas livestock shows;
1-17     in July 1998, he received his State Future Farmers of America
1-18     Degree and was awarded a scholarship from the Houston Livestock
1-19     Show and Rodeo; and
1-20           WHEREAS, At Martin High School, Brandon proved himself an
1-21     exceptional, well-rounded student, earning admission to the
1-22     National Honor Society and  Who's Who Among American High School
1-23     Students; he was an active member of his 4-H Club and served as a
1-24     leader in this organization as well; a successful student, Brandon
 2-1     was admitted to Texas A&M University at College Station; and
 2-2           WHEREAS, Brandon M. Hill currently serves as the State of
 2-3     Texas Future Farmers of America president, representing over 60,000
 2-4     Future Farmers of America members; Brandon has embraced the
 2-5     challenge of leading this expansive Texas organization; he has
 2-6     postponed his freshman year at Texas A&M University so that he
 2-7     might wholeheartedly dedicate himself to Future Farmers of America;
 2-8     among his many duties as president, Brandon travels to high schools
 2-9     throughout the state and represents his organization; he offers
2-10     motivation and leadership to countless Texas youth; indeed, this
2-11     young man is an asset to our state and a shining example to all
2-12     Texas citizens; and
2-13           WHEREAS, Brandon received the inspiration and knowledge to
2-14     achieve his successes from Kevin Hamilton, his agricultural science
2-15     instructor, and from his father, Marcus Hill, who preceded his son
2-16     as the State of Texas Future Farmers of America president in the
2-17     late 1960s; Brandon's mother, Tina Hill, and brother, Blake Hill,
2-18     are also loving supporters of Brandon, and he, in return, is a
2-19     devoted son and brother; and
2-20           WHEREAS, Brandon will be honored on April 16, 1999, at the
2-21     Arlington Junior League Center with a reception recognizing his
2-22     successful tenure as president of Texas' Future Farmers of America;
2-23     now, therefore, be it
2-24           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
2-25     Legislature hereby congratulate Brandon M. Hill on his outstanding
2-26     accomplishments; and, be it further    RESOLVED, That an official
2-27     copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Hill as an expression
 3-1     of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
