R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, Trautmann Middle School is providing an outstanding
1-2 education to the children of Laredo and it is indeed worthy of
1-3 special recognition as students from the school visit the State
1-4 Capitol; and
1-5 WHEREAS, The school was opened in August 1996, with an
1-6 enrollment of 580 students; in its third year of operation, more
1-7 than 770 students are enrolled and the school boasts a 98 percent
1-8 attendance rate, which is the highest in the district; and
1-9 WHEREAS, The school's outstanding principal, Alfredo Jasso,
1-10 Jr., was honored by the Texas Association of Secondary Principals
1-11 with the Principal of the Year--Region I award and assistant
1-12 principals Edith "Edie" Landeck and Annette Perez also provide
1-13 exemplary assistance to the school's students, their parents, and
1-14 teachers; and
1-15 WHEREAS, Due to the hard work and dedication of its staff and
1-16 students, Trautmann Middle School has been a TAAS Recognized Campus
1-17 for two consecutive years; in addition, the Texas Education Agency
1-18 honored this school with a "Recognized Performance" certificate and
1-19 it was also the recipient of a Texas Successful Schools Award in
1-20 1998; and
1-21 WHEREAS, Trautmann Middle School provides lasting memories
1-22 for its students; this year students will again visit Washington,
1-23 D.C., through the efforts of the parent volunteer program, and this
1-24 year also holds special significance as the school will graduate
2-1 its inaugural class; and
2-2 WHEREAS, The dedicated teaching staff of Trautmann Middle
2-3 School has created an environment that promotes success and
2-4 provides students with a quality education, and their unwavering
2-5 commitment will continue to play a vital role in preparing the
2-6 students of this community for leadership roles well into the
2-7 coming century; now, therefore, be it
2-8 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
2-9 Legislature hereby honor the faculty, staff, and students of
2-10 Trautmann Middle School and extend to them sincere best wishes for
2-11 continued success in the years to come; and, be it further
2-12 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-13 prepared for Trautmann Middle School as an expression of high
2-14 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
