                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The George Family Development Center is a
 1-2     collaborative project of the George Foundation; William Smith, Sr.,
 1-3     Tri-County Child Development Council, Inc.; and the Fort Bend
 1-4     Family Health Center; the facility's mission is to give children
 1-5     from birth to age six a head start in life by nurturing their
 1-6     development, as well as offering support and social services to
 1-7     their families; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, The 28,000-square-foot George Family Development
 1-9     Center was funded by the George Foundation and is owned and
1-10     operated by the Fort Bend Family Health Center, a nonprofit health
1-11     and social services provider established in 1975; and
1-12           WHEREAS, Head Start is the facility's focal program,
1-13     benefitting approximately 160 disadvantaged children ranging in age
1-14     from three to five years old, and additional service providers are
1-15     located in the center that not only address the needs of families
1-16     with children enrolled in the Head Start program but also assist
1-17     other families in need; and
1-18           WHEREAS, The humanitarian efforts of the George Family
1-19     Development Center to provide an all-encompassing array of
1-20     developmental services for children and their families are truly
1-21     remarkable and indeed worthy of special recognition; now,
1-22     therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-24     Legislature hereby honor the George Family Development Center and
 2-1     extend to all those associated with this fine facility sincere best
 2-2     wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 2-3           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-4     prepared for the George Family Development Center as an expression
 2-5     of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
