R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The passing of Victor G. Heil on February 22, 1999,
 1-2     at the age of 82, has brought a great loss to the many friends and
 1-3     relatives of this esteemed Alpine resident; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Born July 17, 1916, Mr. Heil worked as a bookkeeper
 1-5     and with a shipyard and a construction company in Houston before
 1-6     relocating to Alpine in 1944; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, Mr. Heil became an exemplary public official, and
 1-8     served his fellow citizens for 35 years as Brewster County tax
 1-9     assessor-collector before his retirement in 1980; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Also a devoted husband and father, he spent 57 happy
1-11     and rewarding years of marriage with his beloved wife, Elorene,
1-12     before her passing in 1998; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Victor G. Heil was a valued member of his community;
1-14     although he will be deeply missed, his remarkable spirit will
1-15     surely live on in the hearts of those individuals whose lives he
1-16     touched during his time on this earth; now, therefore, be it
1-17           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-18     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Victor G. Heil and
1-19     extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
1-20     children, Annis Gates, Jerry Heil, Joy Scott, and Lexine Moore; to
1-21     his eight grandchildren; and to his two great-grandchildren; and,
1-22     be it further
1-23           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-24     prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas
 2-1     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
 2-2     Victor G. Heil.
