No. 678 76R12048 GMW-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Tammy Davis-Miller of Cleburne is indeed worthy of 1-2 special recognition for her significant efforts to better the lives 1-3 of those less fortunate; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Ms. Davis-Miller received an associate degree in 1-5 science from Hill College in 1996 and will earn a bachelor's degree 1-6 in social work from Tarleton State University in May 1999; and 1-7 WHEREAS, From 1992 to 1998 she worked for the Johnson County 1-8 Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center before joining the 1-9 office of State Representative Glenn O. Lewis in August 1998 as a 1-10 social services intern; during her fine tenure, she has excelled at 1-11 each new task she has been given, working with a wide variety of 1-12 groups and providing valuable assistance on numerous special 1-13 projects and assignments, including the crime and violence summit; 1-14 and 1-15 WHEREAS, Ms. Davis-Miller has also been active with the 1-16 United Way, the National Association of Social Workers, and the 1-17 Tarrant Area Gerontological Society, as well as at Tarleton State 1-18 University with chapters of the Phi Alpha National Social Work 1-19 Honor Society, the National Organization of Women, and the Student 1-20 Social Work Association; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Tammy Davis-Miller will surely go far in her chosen 1-22 career, and it is fitting to pay tribute to her at this time; now, 1-23 therefore, be it 1-24 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 2-1 Legislature hereby honor Tammy Davis-Miller for her many 2-2 achievements and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued 2-3 success and happiness; and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-5 prepared for Ms. Davis-Miller as an expression of high regard by 2-6 the Texas House of Representatives.
