R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, On April 20, 1999, Stefanie Zapletal of Ennis
 1-2     attended the Phi Theta Kappa All-State honor banquet, and in light
 1-3     of this singular achievement, she is indeed deserving of special
 1-4     legislative recognition; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Each year, the international honor society Phi Theta
 1-6     Kappa acknowledges those individuals who have demonstrated
 1-7     outstanding performance in academics and community service, and
 1-8     Ms. Zapletal was included among this year's honorees; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, The sophomore representative on the student
1-10     government executive board and vice president of service for the
1-11     Zeta Omicron chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, Ms. Zapletal has
1-12     distinguished herself among her fellow students at Navarro College,
1-13     earning their respect and admiration; and
1-14           WHEREAS, This noteworthy individual dedicates a great deal of
1-15     time and energy to tutoring students in English and other subjects,
1-16     though her skills are not limited to the classroom, as evidenced by
1-17     her membership on the Navarro Lady Dawgs volleyball team during her
1-18     freshman year; and
1-19           WHEREAS, Academic excellence and community leadership are
1-20     truly laudable ideals, and it is a privilege to pay tribute to this
1-21     exemplary young woman for her commitment to these worthy goals at
1-22     this time; now, therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-24     Legislature hereby congratulate Stefanie Zapletal on her
 2-1     participation in the Phi Theta Kappa All-State honor banquet and
 2-2     extend to her best wishes for future success and happiness; and, be
 2-3     it further
 2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-5     prepared for Ms. Zapletal as an expression of high regard by the
 2-6     Texas House of Representatives.
