                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The passing of Virginia Urbina Jones on April 6,
 1-2     1999, at the age of 79, has brought a great loss to the family and
 1-3     friends of this respected woman; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Mrs. Jones was a master notary public, immigration
 1-5     specialist, and respected community member of the west side of San
 1-6     Antonio; known as a leader of integrity and determination, she
 1-7     served her clients for more than 50 years; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Affectionately called "La Senora Jones" by her
 1-9     friends and clients, this tenacious woman most recently worked with
1-10     city hall to pass an ordinance that allowed disabled citizens to
1-11     use the city natatorium free of charge, and her rare dedication was
1-12     noted by all who knew and loved her; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Mrs. Jones was a devoted mother, and the
1-14     long-lasting values she instilled in her children have made them
1-15     the fine individuals they are today; her example inspired her son,
1-16     Charles Urbina Jones, to earn his law degree and seek the
1-17     Democratic nomination for the 23rd Congressional District; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share the love and
1-19     friendship of Virginia Urbina Jones will long miss her presence,
1-20     and though she is gone from this world, her spirit will continue to
1-21     live on in our hearts and minds; now, therefore, be it
1-22           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-23     Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Virginia Urbina Jones
1-24     and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family:  to her
 2-1     sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Urbina Jones and Linda
 2-2     Noltemeier-Jones, and Rudolph O. Jones and Madelyn Ross Jones; to
 2-3     her granddaughters, Stephanie Gayle Jones and Lindsay Ross Jones;
 2-4     to her sister and brother-in-law, Enida and Lloyd Bailey; to her
 2-5     brother-in-law, George Littleton; and to the many other family and
 2-6     friends of this beloved woman; and, be it further
 2-7           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-8     prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas
 2-9     House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
2-10     Virginia Urbina Jones.
