                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Dr. Myron B. Zinn is retiring from his medical
 1-2     career after nearly four decades of service to the citizens of
 1-3     Texas, and he is indeed deserving of special recognition; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Dr. Zinn was born in New York, New York, and earned
 1-5     his bachelor of science degree from George Washington University
 1-6     and his medical degree from New York University College of
 1-7     Medicine; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, This honorable gentleman served his country as a
 1-9     research physician for the Aerospace Medical Laboratory of the
1-10     United States Air Force from 1958 to 1960; and
1-11           WHEREAS, In 1960, Dr. Zinn established a private practice in
1-12     cardiovascular medicine and he has continued in that pursuit to
1-13     this day; he has served on the  staff of the Department of Internal
1-14     Medicine at Bexar County Hospital and is currently on staff at
1-15     Southwest Texas Methodist Hospital, St. Luke's Baptist Hospital,
1-16     Santa Rose Northwest Hospital, and San Antonio Regional Hospital;
1-17     and
1-18           WHEREAS, Dedicated to his profession, this esteemed physician
1-19     is affiliated with the Bexar County Medical Society and the Texas
1-20     Medical Association and is a fellow of the American College of
1-21     Cardiology, the Council on Clinical Cardiology of the American
1-22     Heart Association, and the American College of Physicians; and
1-23           WHEREAS, Throughout the course of his career, Dr. Zinn has
1-24     shared his expertise as chief of medicine and chief of staff for
 2-1     Southwest Texas Methodist Hospital and as chief of cardiology for
 2-2     St. Luke's Baptist Hospital; in addition, he has been involved with
 2-3     the San Antonio Club of Internal Medicine, the Texas Club of
 2-4     Cardiology, and the San Antonio Cardiology Society; and
 2-5           WHEREAS, The vast accomplishments of Dr. Myron B. Zinn have
 2-6     earned him the lasting respect and admiration of his family,
 2-7     friends, colleagues, and patients, and it is a privilege to honor
 2-8     him at this time; now, therefore, be it
 2-9           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
2-10     Legislature hereby commend Dr. Myron B. Zinn for his dedication to
2-11     the citizens of San Antonio and the State of Texas and extend to
2-12     him sincere best wishes for continued happiness in retirement; and,
2-13     be it further
2-14           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-15     prepared for Dr. Zinn as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2-16     House of Representatives.
