R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, Tai Dillard's scholastic and personal
1-2 accomplishments exemplify the unique character of this fine young
1-3 woman and she is indeed deserving of special recognition; and
1-4 WHEREAS, A senior at Sam Houston High School in San Antonio,
1-5 Miss Dillard is ranked number one in a class of 257 students and is
1-6 vice president of the National Honor Society; she has held such
1-7 positions as student council representative, sports editor of the
1-8 school newspaper, and secretary and sergeant-at-arms for the
1-9 Fellowship of Christian Athletes; and
1-10 WHEREAS, Miss Dillard has been a member of the Top Teens of
1-11 America for three years and is currently involved with Delteen
1-12 Lift; she has furthered her commitment to education as a junior
1-13 program assistant with the UTSA PREP Program and has demonstrated
1-14 her athletic prowess as a member of the South Texas Diamondbacks;
1-15 and
1-16 WHEREAS, After graduation Miss Dillard is planning to attend
1-17 The University of Texas at Austin, where she will undoubtedly
1-18 continue her outstanding performance as both a scholar and an
1-19 athlete; and
1-20 WHEREAS, This dedicated young woman possesses an uncommon
1-21 character that is evidenced by her dedication to academics and
1-22 excellence, and her impressive leadership as a young Texan instills
1-23 pride in all who know and love her, and it is indeed a privilege to
1-24 honor her at this time; now, therefore, be it
2-1 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
2-2 Legislature hereby commend Tai Dillard and extend to her sincere
2-3 best wishes for success and happiness in all her future endeavors;
2-4 and, be it further
2-5 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-6 prepared for Miss Dillard as an expression of high regard by the
2-7 Texas House of Representatives.
