No. 752 76R12841 JBR-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The passing of Maria Acosta Garcia on February 28, 1-2 1999, at the age of 72, brought a great loss to the family and 1-3 friends of this beloved woman; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Born December 9, 1926, in Santa Elena, Mexico, to 1-5 Jose and Clara Acosta, Mrs. Garcia later moved to Texas and became 1-6 an esteemed resident of Marathon, where she devoted herself to her 1-7 family as a loving partner to her husband, Magdoleno Garcia, and a 1-8 thoughtful and caring mother to the couple's children, Raul, 1-9 Gabriel, Jose, Jesus, and Bea; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share the love and 1-11 friendship of Maria Acosta Garcia will long miss her presence, and 1-12 though she is gone from us now, her spirit will surely live on in 1-13 the hearts and minds of the many people whose lives she touched; 1-14 now, therefore, be it 1-15 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-16 Legislature hereby honor the memory of Maria Acosta Garcia and 1-17 extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her 1-18 husband, Magdoleno Garcia; to her sons, Raul Garcia, Gabriel 1-19 Garcia, Jose Garcia, and Jesus "Chuy" Garcia; to her daughter, 1-20 Baudelia "Bea" Leyva; to her brothers, Sartunino Acosta, Hilario 1-21 Acosta, Elpidio Acosta, and Cecilio Acosta; to her sisters, Manuela 1-22 Marquez, Leandra Marquez, Golla Georgia Acosta, Valentin Gulindo, 1-23 Dominga Galindo, and Rufina Bernal; and to her other friends and 1-24 relatives; and, be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-2 prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas 2-3 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of 2-4 Maria Acosta Garcia.
