R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, Daniel B. Kulvicki has worked diligently through his
 1-2     State of Texas Anniversary Remembrance (S.T.A.R.) Day project to
 1-3     commemorate one of the State of Texas' most historic moments; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, A senior at Dickinson High School, Mr. Kulvicki's
 1-5     goal is to have February 19 declared as S.T.A.R. Day by the Texas
 1-6     Legislature to honor Texas' joining the Union and the date in 1846
 1-7     when James Pinckney Henderson became the Lone Star State's first
 1-8     governor; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Mr. Kulvicki organized the Galveston County S.T.A.R.
1-10     Day Project Committee with the support of Galveston County Judge
1-11     James D.  Yarbrough and City of Dickinson Mayor John W. Mitchiner
1-12     to seek the creation of a S.T.A.R. Day by state lawmakers; and
1-13           WHEREAS, With the support of Citizen's State Bank and Texas
1-14     First Banks of Galveston County, Mr. Kulvicki has twice had
1-15     published editions of a community newspaper featuring the story of
1-16     S.T.A.R. Day as well as copies of historical documents related to
1-17     the inauguration of Governor Henderson; and
1-18           WHEREAS, He has been supported in his endeavors by his
1-19     parents, Dennis M.  and Fostelene T. Kulvicki; his project has also
1-20     been endorsed by all of the state's county judges, and Governor
1-21     George W. Bush has officially declared S.T.A.R. Day in Texas each
1-22     year from 1996 to 1999; and
1-23           WHEREAS, Mr. Kulvicki has distinguished himself through his
1-24     remarkable perseverance in the pursuit of his goals, and it is
 2-1     indeed appropriate that he be honored for his accomplishments at
 2-2     this time; now, therefore, be it
 2-3           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-4     Legislature hereby commend Daniel B. Kulvicki for his exceptional
 2-5     efforts in behalf of the S.T.A.R. Day project and extend to him
 2-6     sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
 2-7     further
 2-8           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-9     prepared for Mr. Kulvicki as an expression of high regard by the
2-10     Texas House of Representatives.
