R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The members of the Borden County High School Lady 1-2 Coyotes basketball team achieved outstanding success during the 1-3 1998-1999 season, and it is indeed fitting to recognize them at 1-4 this time; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Coach Gailan Winegarner and assistant coach Allan 1-6 Wootan skillfully guided the Lady Coyotes to a stellar 30-5 record, 1-7 deep into the UIL state playoffs, and for the first time in school 1-8 history to the "Final Four" in Austin; and 1-9 WHEREAS, This remarkable season would not have been possible 1-10 without the contributions of all the talented team members, 1-11 including Holly Thomas, Crystal Dye, Staci O'Brien, Shaina Isaacs, 1-12 Bekah Hensley, Katie Kemp, Julie Mayes, Lindsey Smith, Adrianna 1-13 Baeza, Amanda Watts, Kaci Poole, Hailey Adcock, Valerie Wootan, and 1-14 Ky Merritt; the Lady Coyotes also received invaluable support from 1-15 manager Brenda Griffin; and 1-16 WHEREAS, The members of the Borden County High School Lady 1-17 Coyotes have distinguished themselves as formidable competitors, 1-18 and as they take pride in their truly successful season it is 1-19 indeed fitting to pay tribute to them for their significant 1-20 achievements; now, therefore, be it 1-21 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-22 Legislature hereby honor the Borden County High School Lady Coyotes 1-23 basketball team for their impressive accomplishments during the 1-24 1998-1999 season and extend to them sincere best wishes for 2-1 continued success; and, be it further 2-2 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-3 prepared for the Borden County Lady Coyotes as an expression of 2-4 high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
