R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The Borden County High School Coyotes six-man
1-2 football team finished as state runner-up in an impressive 1998
1-3 season, and this outstanding gridiron performance is indeed worthy
1-4 of special recognition; and
1-5 WHEREAS, The guidance and skill of Head Coach Bobby Avery and
1-6 his coaching staff ably led the Coyotes to a 13-2 record as they
1-7 admirably defended their 1997 state championship by marching to the
1-8 final game of the 1998 state playoffs; and
1-9 WHEREAS, This stellar season would not have been possible
1-10 without the contributions of all the talented team members,
1-11 including Joseph Hardman, Tom Griffin, Kevin Pinkerton, Cesar
1-12 Mujica, Rowdy Dunlap, Fernando Baeza, Colt McCook, Ramon Griffin,
1-13 Preston Sharp, Javier Galvan, Colt Miller, Ed Rodriguez, Lee
1-14 Pepper, Robert Stamper, D. J. Smith, Philip Abalos, John Harding,
1-15 Payton Brown, Dale Grant, Ryan Grant, Justin Lawrence, Cody
1-16 Nowlain, Jacob Zant, T. C. Stipe, James Bond, Nick Flanigan, David
1-17 Wright, and Ross Aten; and
1-18 WHEREAS, The dedication and competitive spirit of all the
1-19 members of the Borden County High School six-man football team are
1-20 truly commendable, and it is indeed fitting to pay tribute to them
1-21 for their exceptional 1998 season; now, therefore, be it
1-22 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-23 Legislature hereby honor the members of the Coyotes six-man
1-24 football team for their impressive accomplishments during the 1998
2-1 season and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued
2-2 success; and, be it further
2-3 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-4 prepared for the Borden County Coyotes as an expression of high
2-5 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
