R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great pride
1-2 in recognizing the Lone Star members of the American Chemical
1-3 Society (ACS), for their significant contributions to Texas indeed
1-4 merit special legislative recognition; and
1-5 WHEREAS, The American Chemical Society has for many years
1-6 committed its resources to increasing the public's understanding of
1-7 chemistry, bringing its expertise to state and national debates;
1-8 with more than 158,000 members, the ACS is well-equipped to provide
1-9 resources, information, and technical assistance for a variety of
1-10 complex issues; and
1-11 WHEREAS, The Texas members of this prominent organization
1-12 play a key role in our state's economic growth and prosperity;
1-13 advances in science and technology are indispensable to ensuring
1-14 the continuation of that prosperity and vital to our general
1-15 well-being; and
1-16 WHEREAS, The ACS is dedicated to maintaining economic
1-17 competitiveness, to education and research objectives, and to
1-18 environmental and workforce protection, and it is a great pleasure
1-19 to take this opportunity to honor those involved with this notable
1-20 group; now, therefore, be it
1-21 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
1-22 Legislature hereby recognize the Texas members of the American
1-23 Chemical Society for their tremendous efforts in behalf of a better
1-24 Texas and extend to all those associated with this worthy
2-1 organization warmest best wishes for continued success and
2-2 happiness; and, be it further
2-3 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-4 prepared for the Texas division of the ACS as an expression of high
2-5 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
