                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to
 1-2     congratulate Liberty High School senior Josh Sullivan on his
 1-3     acceptance into the United States Air Force Academy at Colorado
 1-4     Springs, Colorado; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Nominated by Congressman Jim Turner, this
 1-6     exceptional young leader aspires to a career as a pilot and
 1-7     ultimately as a participant in the astronaut program; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Mr. Sullivan excels academically and athletically
 1-9     and also contributes to the betterment of his community; he
1-10     maintains a 4.4 grade point average and declares physics his
1-11     favorite subject because of its practicality; and
1-12           WHEREAS, In addition to his academic achievements,
1-13     Mr. Sullivan also is an accomplished athlete, lettering in football
1-14     and baseball and achieving top ranking in the state as a
1-15     powerlifter for his weight class; he hopes to add his talents as a
1-16     member of the prestigious academy's football team and is also
1-17     interested in participating in powerlifting and baseball; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Taking seriously his role model status at school and
1-19     in his community, this impressive young gentleman endeavors to
1-20     personify his high ideals; he serves as president of the Fellowship
1-21     of Christian Athletes and assists with toy drives for needy
1-22     children and is considering organizing a Special Olympics
1-23     competition or a  punt, pass, and kick contest for area children;
1-24     and
 2-1           WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan exemplifies dedication,
 2-2     leadership, and self-discipline in pursuit of his goals; he stands
 2-3     at the threshold of a future bright with promise, and it is a
 2-4     privilege to honor him at this time; now, therefore, be it
 2-5           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-6     Legislature hereby congratulate Josh Sullivan on his acceptance
 2-7     into the United States Air Force Academy and extend to him warmest
 2-8     best wishes for many more years of success; and, be it further
 2-9           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-10     prepared for Josh Sullivan as an expression of high regard by the
2-11     Texas House of Representatives.
