No. 813 76R13932 GMW-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Eric Eshbach of Orangefield High School recently set 1-2 a national high school pole vault record, and this outstanding 1-3 athletic achievement is truly worthy of special recognition; and 1-4 WHEREAS, At the UIL District 23-3A track and field 1-5 competition held in Orangefield, Mr. Eshbach astoundingly cleared 1-6 the height of 17 feet 9-3/4 inches to best the previous national 1-7 high school federation pole vault record set in 1981 by one-quarter 1-8 of an inch; and 1-9 WHEREAS, In addition to setting the national mark he also 1-10 surpassed the Texas record of 17 feet 6 inches set in 1990; all of 1-11 these track and field heroics not only thrust Mr. Eshbach into the 1-12 upper echelon of national record holders, but also placed him in 1-13 the elite company of Orangefield's many previous world-class pole 1-14 vaulters; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Eric Eshbach has distinguished himself as a truly 1-16 talented athlete and a pole vaulter of supreme ability, and as he 1-17 takes pride in his most recent record-setting performance it is 1-18 indeed fitting to pay tribute to him for his significant 1-19 accomplishment; now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-21 Legislature hereby honor Eric Eshbach for setting a national high 1-22 school pole vault record and extend to him sincere best wishes for 1-23 continued success and happiness; and, be it further 1-24 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-1 prepared for Mr. Eshbach as an expression of high regard by the 2-2 Texas House of Representatives.
