                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, It is always a pleasure to honor those individuals
 1-2     who have served the citizens of the Lone Star State with integrity
 1-3     and distinction, and Nell Baham is one such individual; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, An educator at Sinclair Elementary School for the
 1-5     past 14 years, Nell Baham has dedicated 35 years to the education
 1-6     of young children and is well respected by her colleagues,
 1-7     students, and the community for the extraordinary commitment she
 1-8     puts forth; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Mrs. Baham is a leader outside of the classroom as
1-10     the sponsor for student council and a variety of after-school and
1-11     summer programs that involve drama, art, writing, and tutoring, and
1-12     as a sponsor for children who send their essays, poems, plays, and
1-13     short stories to the HCTE English writing awards, a contest that is
1-14     open to all students in the Houston Independent School District;
1-15     and
1-16           WHEREAS, This knowledgeable woman is a valuable resource for
1-17     her colleagues and has provided in-service seminars that cover
1-18     topics important for present-day educators; she is a well-respected
1-19     mentor for faculty and parents, and for her faithful PTA
1-20     participation she has earned a Texas Life Membership and a National
1-21     Life Membership in that organization; and
1-22           WHEREAS, A devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Baham has enjoyed a
1-23     loving relationship with her husband, Ronnie, with whom she has
1-24     raised her two children, Wes and Linda, and they have the joy of
 2-1     doting on a grandson, Trevor; her commitment to the schoolchildren
 2-2     of Sinclair has earned her a place in the hearts of many students
 2-3     and the respect of countless community members and parents; now,
 2-4     therefore, be it
 2-5           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-6     Legislature hereby commend Nell Baham for her outstanding service
 2-7     to Sinclair Elementary School and extend to her sincere best wishes
 2-8     for an enjoyable retirement; and, be it further
 2-9           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-10     prepared for Mrs. Baham as an expression of high regard by the
2-11     Texas House of Representatives.
