                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, On May 1, 1999, William H. Harrison, Sr., will step
 1-2     down as a member of the Eagle Lake Community Hospital Board, ending
 1-3     his 32 years of service with that noteworthy body; and
 1-4           WHEREAS, Mr. Harrison's tenure on the board began in 1967,
 1-5     the same year that Eagle Lake Community Hospital was established;
 1-6     one of six original members, he has shared his knowledge and wisdom
 1-7     throughout the course of his years of service, providing
 1-8     leadership, integrity, and constancy to the board of directors; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Among this remarkable man's many accomplishments is
1-10     his role in raising $600,000 to match the Hill-Burton Grant that
1-11     enabled the community to construct a new 47-bed hospital; that
1-12     building was completed in 1975, and Mr. Harrison proudly served as
1-13     master of ceremonies for the dedication of the new debt-free
1-14     community hospital; and
1-15           WHEREAS, During his term on the board, he has served as
1-16     chairman of the executive committee, chairman of the finance
1-17     committee, and board vice president; he is a former director of the
1-18     Rice Medical Foundation and currently provides guidance as an
1-19     advisory director of the foundation; and
1-20           WHEREAS, Mr. Harrison has received the loving support of his
1-21     wife, Roseann, throughout his three decades of service on the
1-22     board, and they are mainstays at any and all hospital functions;
1-23     and
1-24           WHEREAS, William H. Harrison, Sr., has dedicated a good many
 2-1     years of his life to ensuring that proper medical care is available
 2-2     to the citizens of Eagle Lake, and he is truly deserving of special
 2-3     recognition for his contributions to this admirable goal; now,
 2-4     therefore, be it
 2-5           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-6     Legislature hereby honor William H. Harrison, Sr., on the occasion
 2-7     of his retirement from the Eagle Lake Community Hospital Board and
 2-8     extend best wishes to him for continued success and happiness in
 2-9     his future endeavors; and, be it further
2-10           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-11     prepared for Mr. Harrison as an expression of high regard by the
2-12     Texas House of Representatives.
