                                 R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great pride
 1-2     in recognizing Nancy J. McKethan on the occasion of her retirement
 1-3     from Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), for her exceptional tenure
 1-4     indeed merits special legislative recognition; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Ms. McKethan began her career in city governance in
 1-6     1977 as a data control clerk with the Department of Data Services;
 1-7     her ability and dedication quickly advanced her through a number of
 1-8     increasingly responsible positions, including roles with the Dallas
 1-9     city secretary and two mayors; and
1-10           WHEREAS, In 1984 she was appointed to the position of
1-11     director of the Office of Board Support for DART, serving as the
1-12     primary liaison  between DART staff and the agency's board of
1-13     directors; she has been responsible for a multitude of critical
1-14     tasks, from the coordination of committee and board meetings to the
1-15     maintenance of official board records, and she has handled all with
1-16     the utmost professionalism; and
1-17           WHEREAS, Throughout her service with DART and the City of
1-18     Dallas, Ms. McKethan has exhibited a diligence and capability that
1-19     have advanced the goals of economy and mobility in a manner that
1-20     will be difficult to replace; her familiarity with the system, and
1-21     her warmth and enthusiasm, will be deeply missed by her many
1-22     colleagues, and it is a pleasure to join them in honoring her at
1-23     this time; now, therefore, be it
1-24           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas
 2-1     Legislature hereby commend Nancy J. McKethan on the occasion of her
 2-2     retirement as director of the Office of Board Support of Dallas
 2-3     Area Rapid Transit and extend to her warmest best wishes for
 2-4     happiness and success in the years ahead; and, be it further
 2-5           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 2-6     prepared for Ms. McKethan as an expression of high regard by the
 2-7     Texas House of Representatives.
