R E S O L U T I O N
 1-1           WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas
 1-2     is proud to congratulate the members of the Grapevine High School
 1-3     football team on their victory in the 1998 Class 4A District 1
 1-4     championship football game; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, The Mustangs defeated the Bay City Black Cats 22-0
 1-6     in Texas Stadium to clinch their championship title; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, Exhibiting awesome talent and perseverance
 1-8     throughout the season, the Mustangs' team players, Roger Chapman,
 1-9     Jason Schindler, Jared Brown, Nick Leckey, Kelly Sayre, Blake Holt,
1-10     Dan Cameron, Jimmy Barnett, Ben Benardino, Ryan Gowdy, Derek Frey,
1-11     Andrew Marr, Chris Gray, Devin Pilgrim, Nick Zies, Curtis Caldwell,
1-12     Trent Scribner, Cody Spencer, Ryan Maxwell, Andy Thompson, Josh
1-13     Born, Joe Stanford, Matt France, Richard Spruell, Damon Williams,
1-14     Saleem Razvi, Stewart Records, Chad White, T. J. Howard, Brandon
1-15     Winner, Sam Robert, Jordan Wilson, DeWayne Betik, Cody Koontz, Cole
1-16     Farden, Alex Martin, Brad Balla, Brad Lynes, Matt Cantrell, Mitch
1-17     Gatlin, Daniel Cheek, Rory Dyck, Josh Cook, Matt Baan, Casey Ford,
1-18     Chris Culver, and Taylor Farden, the coaches, and the trainers
1-19     deserve to be proud of their efforts and outstanding performance;
1-20     and
1-21           WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of their
1-22     head coach, Mike Sneed, and the assistant coaches, Gary Olivo, Gary
1-23     Mullins, Roger Benefield, Bruce Holmes, Heath Bullard, Andy Modica,
1-24     Dave Sammons, Bill Symon, Bill McClesky, Tim McCune, Marty Wyatt,
 2-1     Scott Goodwin, Bryan Higginbotham, J. T. Grubbs, Todd Rogers, and
 2-2     Scott Lee, the Mustangs pulled together as a team and attained
 2-3     their goal; and
 2-4           WHEREAS, The Mustangs' team unity, exceptional skills, and
 2-5     respect for the highest ideals of American sportsmanship have
 2-6     brought honor to the school and to the community; now, therefore,
 2-7     be it
 2-8           RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of
 2-9     Texas, 76th Legislature, hereby commend the Grapevine High School
2-10     Mustangs for their state championship title and extend appreciation
2-11     to the school's principal, Dana Drew, for his outstanding
2-12     leadership; and, be it further
2-13           RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for the
2-14     Grapevine High School Mustangs as an expression of esteem from the
2-15     Texas House of Representatives.
