R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Honorable Glenn Walker of Euless is an 1-2 outstanding civic leader, and his myriad accomplishments are indeed 1-3 worthy of special recognition; and 1-4 WHEREAS, This distinguished gentleman has long been a vital 1-5 and valued member of the Euless City Council, serving from 1975 to 1-6 1990 and from 1993 to the present, twice holding the position of 1-7 mayor pro tem; and 1-8 WHEREAS, In addition to his terms on the city council, he 1-9 served on the Charter Review Committee, Civil Service Commission, 1-10 Economic Development Advisory Board, Half Cent Sales Tax Committee, 1-11 Industrial Development Authority, Planning and Zoning Commission, 1-12 and Zoning Board of Adjustment and represented the City of Euless 1-13 on the Trinity River Authority Advisory Committee; and 1-14 WHEREAS, After many years of hard work and dedication on 1-15 behalf of the citizens of Euless, Mr. Walker has chosen not to run 1-16 for reelection when his current term on the city council expires in 1-17 1999, capping off the highly successful tenure of this esteemed 1-18 councilman; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Glenn Walker has distinguished himself as a 1-20 community leader of ability and integrity, and it is most fitting 1-21 that he be recognized for his many significant achievements; now, 1-22 therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 76th Texas 1-24 Legislature hereby commend the Honorable Glenn Walker for his many 2-1 civic contributions and extend to him sincere best wishes for 2-2 continued success and happiness; and, be it further 2-3 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-4 prepared for Mr. Walker as an expression of high regard by the 2-5 Texas House of Representatives.
